Child Assessment and Psychological Services of New Jersey
Evidence based treatment and comprehensive psycho-educational evaluation services for children and their families
Services

Individual Therapy
Through a supportive and collaborative approach, individuals will learn skills and strategies to address their symptoms and more adaptive ways of coping. Therapy duration and modality will vary based on the presenting concern.

Parent Management Training
Parents can learn skills and strategies for helping their child navigate challenging emotions and behaviors. While parents are not often the "cause", they can be a big part of the solution. Utilizing a CBT and attachment approach, parents will gain confidence in response to various behaviors as well as learn strategies for increasing positive interactions with their child.

Comprehensive
Psycho-Educational and Psychological Evaluation
Comprehensive assessment provides parents and educators with detailed knowledge about a child's strengths and weaknesses as well as identifies underlying causes of presenting problems. Assessment reports outline individualized recommendations to support children educationally, emotionally, and/or behaviorally at home and in school.

School Consultation
Supporting children in the school setting takes many forms.
-
Consultation directly with teachers and other school personnel on effectively addressing learning, behavioral and/or emotional needs.
-
Helping parents understand the New Jersey Special Education process and their child's Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
-
Attending IEP meetings with parents
